Where Environmental, Safety and Health (ESHA) Programs are a Way of Life

At SiVance, we believe a robust Environment, Safety and Health (ESHA) Program is vital to the long-term success of our business and to the general welfare of everyone living within the Gainesville, Florida community. In our view, ESHA is a way of life, a choice to grow our business and to provide new opportunities through sound management practices.

SiVance is fully dedicated to the world-class manufacture of silicone chemistry and to the health and safety of employees, neighbors, and the environment. Our ISO 9001:2008 registered facility, located within the Gainesville Industrial Park, includes a range of equipment and processes to properly handle hazardous materials and chemical processes. Well-designed and maintained equipment along with well trained employees has enabled SiVance to minimize work related injuries to a rate well below the industry average.

With the understanding that a world-class ESHA program is a matter of choice, SiVance carries this vital program beyond the industry standard to better serve the community, customers, stakeholders and the more than 125 employees located at the Gainesville site. For example, our fire protection and waste handling practices lead the industry in minimizing risk from hazardous materials handled on site. However, should a problem occur, the site's 60 member emergency response team
is trained and ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to medical, hazardous material or fire incidents.

SiVance pledges to protect public health and the quality of the environment, and maximize the health and safety of our employees, our customers and our community nearby. Our corporate beliefs include:

  • Holding every employee responsible for implementing our safety practices and our corporate safety policy;
  • Manufacturing and selling only those products which can be manufactured and used safely, when appropriate work practices are followed;
  • Developing and using technology and processes to prevent adverse impact from company operations on public health, employee health or the environment;
  • Providing leadership within our business segments to establish effective environmental, safety
    and occupational health standards.
